Back up Cameras to be made mandatory

The U.S. government has recently decreed that all passenger vehicles must be equipped with rearview cameras by the year 2019. This new regulation is intended to improve safety on the nation’s roads, and it will no doubt have a positive impact. However, there are some potential drawbacks to this mandate. For one thing, it could add to the cost of owning a car. In addition, it could lead to increased surveillance of drivers by the government. But, on balance, the benefits of this new regulation are likely to outweigh the costs. After all, preventing accidents is always worth the price.
